Shelley lives in Staveley and is a well know personality on the Mountain Bike circuit. On September the 21st 2009 she sets off to cycle the length of the Pyrennes, from Handaye on the Atlantic coast, close by the border of France and Spain. Linking together paths on the French and Spanish sides of the Pyrenees, she will cross high mountain passes, making steep technical ascents and descents. Breath taking valleys, lakes, flora and fauna (including bears!) will all form part of this incredible journey. After approximately 1000 km of distance and an immeasurable quantity of ascent and descent the journey will end at Banyuls-Sur-Mer on the Mediterranean coast at the foothills of the Pyrenees.
