Paul Rose’s remarkable career has encompassed professional diving, mountain and polar guiding – both Arctic and Antarctic – yacht skipper and life in front of the cameras as one of the BBC’s most charismatic and popular presenters. The common theme however, has always been adventure and wild places!
Paul was the Base Commander of the British Antarctic Survey’s Rothera Research Station and for this work he was awarded The Polar Medal. For his work with NASA and the Mars Lander project on Mt Erebus, Antarctica he was awarded the US Polar Medal. The Royal Geographical Society presented him with The Ness Award - "For the popularisation of Geography and the wider understanding of our world" and he was the society’s Vice President. His work on television has included the BBC ground breaking “Oceans” series. He is also the joint author of the book that’s linked to the series and is currently writing a book called The Great Explorers
