Stefan Glowacz was born March 22, 1965 and lives in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. The father of three children, Stefan has for years been one of the world's leading climbers. At the age of 15 he took an Alpine Club climbing course and was immediately fascinated by the sport. During the following years Stefan climbed extensively in the local Wettersteingebirge before making a big impact on the sport climbing circuit - winning the Arco Rock Master Event on three occasions. Since the mid nineties Stefan has focused on the challenges of natural rock, climbing in the wildest, most remote places such as the mountains of Arctic Canada, Patagonia and Antarctica. All his attempts are done in alpine style and on his approach to mountains uses 'fair means' travelling thousands of miles in the purest way possible, either paddling, bushwhacking, sledding or sailing.
