Rob is an experienced and well respected UIAGM/IFMGA Mountain Guide
Rob has been qualified and guiding since 1976.
Rob's first job was with the British Antarctic Survey as a mountaineer and dog handler and he has worked in mountains ever since. After qualifying as a Mountain Guide in 1976 he worked for eleven years at centres in North Wales. Since then, as a freelance, he has led parties trekking, climbing and skiing all over the world. He takes a special interest in natural history and is closely connected with the Wilderness Trust and the John Muir Trust.
His book 'Days to Remember' is a collection of his mountaineering tales With a foreword from mountaineer and writer Stephen Venables, the book chronicles trips from hills in Wales to larger expeditions including the Silvretta Alps, Gletscherhorn, and Annapurna. His book has been shortlisted for Boardman Tasker Prize for Mountain Literature.
