Henry Schniewind is an internationally renowned snow and avalanche expert. Starting as a junior ski racer in the United States, he went on to study avalanche forecasting, before moving to France.
He has worked in the French Alps for over 25 years as an off-piste guide and fully qualified ski instructor. A leading authority in avalanche awareness, he has numerous ties with snow and avalanche organisations worldwide, and is a professional member of the American Avalanche Association.
Passionate about the mountains and off-piste, Henry is committed to making off-piste skiing both fun and safe. With this aim, he founded Henry’s Avalanche Talk, HAT, to provide avalanche awareness courses and talks.
Henry’s snow courses are for off-piste skiers who want to have more fun and be safe in the mountains. They show you what to look out for to make the right safety decisions, and how to have a great ski off-piste.
