Frank has been caving and climbing in the UK for 45 years and was a member of the team that connected the Three Counties Cave System in 2011. He has continued to find and explore new caves in the Yorkshire Dales. He has also explored cave systems in Spain and China, though his focus is the exploration of the caves of Mulu, in Sarawak, Malaysia. He was most recently a member of the expedition to Mulu in April of this year, exploring the recently discovered network of passages in the Creedence section of the Clearwater System. He is about to complete his PhD at Lancaster University on the early science, literature and philosophy of British caving.
