Claire is a writer and creative consultant in the outdoor industry.
Claire is the Artistic Director for Kendal Mountain Festival, Film Judge and Presenter for Sheffield Adventure Film Festival. Claire graduated with distinction from the University of East Anglia Creative Writing MA in 2010, and has continued her research in landscape, outdoor heritage and gender in her work with bodies such as the National Trust, British Mountaineering Council, European Outdoor Group, Mountain Heritage Trust, Women’s Climbing Symposium and her independent mountain arts and literary events, or raves. She contributes articles and poetry to Climb, Summit, UKC and Mountain Pro. Claire is working on a new anthology of women’s wilderness and adventure ‘Waymaking' with the authors Helen Mort and Heather Dawe, to be published by Vertebrate Publishing in 2017. Based in Sheffield, she is a keen climber, fell runner and cold water swimmer, or splasher.
