Ashley Cooper

Ashley is an award winning environmental photographer.

Ashley has spent the last fourteen years travelling to every continent on the planet to document the impacts of climate change and the rise of renewable energy. The only living photographer to have done so.

"Images From a Warming Planet” is the result. 500 of the best images that graphically depict how climate change is already wreaking havoc across the planet, and what we can do to prevent the worst excesses. The epic journey took Cooper from within 500 miles of the North Pole to the Antarctic Peninsular, from 300 feet below sea level to 18,000 feet above in the Bolivian Andes. The journey was not without its hazards, the author was threatened by security guards, and police and arrested by the Chinese Army, as well as falling through a snow bridge on the Greenland ice sheet, and narrowly avoiding being avalanched in the Himalayas.

This tour de force came out to amazing reviews including Jonathon Porritt who called the book “an extraordinary collection of images and a powerful call to action”. The book recently won a Green Apple Award for championing sustainability and has received support from Emma Thompson, The Pope, Chris Packham, Vivienne Westwood, Mike Dilger, Chris Bonington, Paul Rose, and Tim Farron to name a few.

Ashley is an award winning environmental photographer whose work is often to be seen of the front cover of national and international newspapers. In 2010, Ashley was awarded the winning image in the climate change category of the prestigious, world wide, Environmental Photographer of the Year competition.

This year he is one of the judges of the International Environmental Photographer of the Year Competition, along with Stephen Fry and Ben Fogle.
