Amy Gigi Alexander
Amy is a writer, artist and geocultral explorer.
Amy is a writer, editor, publisher, and geocultural explorer with an emphasis on travel writing, landscapes imagined and real, memoir, and lyrical magical realism paired with psychogeography. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the British literary journal with a modern approach to travel literature, Panorama: the Journal of Intelligent Travel, and has taught travel and landscape writing around the world, most recently in Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya. Her award winning travel writing has appeared in many publications and anthologies, from National Geographic Traveler to BBC Travel, from Lonely Planet to multiple editions of Best Travel Writing, as well as many literary journals. Her upcoming mountain themed writing appears in Alpinist and Waymaking, among others.
Her current projects include a collection of short stories on place, and a guidebook on imaginary mountains, published in partnership with Imaginary Mountains Surveyors. It is both a bible on the history of mountains, as well as a sort of ‘Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance' take on the mountainscape-- and our relationship to it.
