The Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature

The Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature Join us as we announce the winner of the Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature 2017.

The Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature is THE premier mountain literature award worldwide and commemorates the lives of Pete Boardman and Joe Tasker who were lost on the North East Ridge of Everest in 1982. It is awarded to the author of an original work which has made an outstanding contribution to mountain literature. Who will be the 35th winner of the coveted Boardman Tasker Prize? The afternoon which is hosted by Stephen Venables will include readings from authors and, of course, the nail-biting wait for the winner to be announced.

The BT Shortlisted Authors will be “In Conversation” with the mountaineer and author Stephen Venables, where the authors talk about and read from their book. The

The Boardman Tasker Judges had a tough job of picking the shortlist from 34 entries. The shortlisted authors are: Tommy Caldwell - The Push: A climber’s Journey of Endurance, Risk, and Going Beyond Limits, Rob Collister - Days to Remember, Ed Douglas -The Magician’s Glass, Christopher Nicholson - Among the Summer Snows 5) Bernadette McDonald - Art of Freedom, Erhard Loretan with Jean Ammann Night Naked: A Climber’s Autobiography.
