Ozone Free-Flight Session
Kendal kicks off on Thursday night with a feast of aerial film and speakers at the Free-Flight Session. Expect stunning films and world-class guests showcasing the best in Paragliding, BASE, Speed Riding, Acro and much more.
Our special guest this year is the incredible Frenchman, Antoine Girard. In his July 2016 solo, vol-bivy, Himalayan flight of 1250km, Antoine flew over Broad Peak at more than 8,000m – a world first! His film of this epic flight, 'Pakistan Airway', is as bold as it is breathtaking.
Also speaking will be endurance athlete and paraglider pilot Charlotte (Charlie) King who will share her recent story of becoming the first woman to fly solo from the summit of Kilimanjaro. Charlie also combines her love of trail running with participating in hike-and-fly events, including the Transdromoise, Airtour and Bornes to Fly.
Thanks to headline sponsors OZONE and Cross Country Magazine, 'Flyability' – the BHPA’s disability initiative, will be the recipient of raffle funds raised on the night.
For those interested to learn more about free-flight, we are also holding an educational afternoon of safety and performance themed paragliding workshops. Based in Kendal Town Hall on the Thursday afternoon, Jocky Sanderson will present an SIV workshop along with other experts to educate, inspire and get pilots warmed up for the evening event. Discounts are available for booking both the workshops and the Free-Flight Session.
Details on booking onto these workshops can be found HERE
