Who named Cumbria’s Mountains? And what was the significance of this world-famous landscape in the past? In this talk, Edmonds delves deeply into the early medieval period, an era of kings, Vikings and even (allegedly) a giant. She draws on her own research into Cumbria’s early history and names, and on the Victoria County History of Cumbria project, which seeks to write the history of every place in Cumbria.
