KMF 2012 Opening Ceremony

This years' opening will be a free public event in the centre of Kendal. We invite local people, old and young, to come and see some amazing film footage from some of this years films.

Lecture: Boardman Tasker 30th Anniversary Commemorative Event

This year is the 30th Anniversary of the Boardman-Tasker Award for Mountain Literature. In 1982 Pete Boardman and Joe Tasker disappeared at a key juncture, during a bold attempt to make the first, full ascent of the entire North East Ridge of Everest.

The now hugely popular Free-Flight Session moves back to its roots in the north of the county, the hub of Paragliding and Hang Gliding in Cumbria. The stunning Rheged venue enables us to expand our audience reach and increase capacity for this event.
