John Muir Trust

The John Muir Trust is the leading wild land conservation charity in the UK. We love wild places and are dedicated to protecting and improving them for people and wildlife. Over 10,000 members support us in our work.

We own and look after some of the finest areas of wild land in Scotland including parts of Ben Nevis, Schiehallion, Knoydart, Quinag, Sandwood Bay and areas of the Cuillin mountain range on the Isle of Skye.We care for these magnificent landscapes by restoring habitats, encouraging wildlife, maintaining footpaths, clearing litter and much more.

We also campaign to protect wild land under threat from large scale development and work with others to safeguard it.And each year through the John Muir Award, the Trust’s educational initiative, we continue to help thousands of people across the UK of all ages and backgrounds to connect with wild places and discover the value of wildness in their own lives.
