Kendal Mountain Festival aims to become a ‘Beacon of Excellence’ in festival sustainability.
To achieve this aim Kendal Mountain Festival is collaborating with the University of Cumbria and Eco-innovation Cumbria to support research that will build on our current ethos for sustainable use of natural resource, and place sustainability at the heart of the festival planning process.
Alongside on-going work that will assess the Festival organisation, we would also like to gain a greater understanding of the behaviour and attitudes of the Festival’s wider community; visitors, local partners and sponsors.
Kendal Mountain Festival’s team member Seonaid Lafferty is looking to recruit ‘Sustainability Ambassadors’ to share their views and Festival experiences.
With the support and help of the outdoor community, we want to build a sustainable Kendal Mountain Festival that champions’ environmental and social sustainability, helping to set and achieve the highest standards of innovation, inclusivity and creativity.
